![]() Perhaps the effect was especially strong because this is my first read in this fandom, but Saras_Girl showed me a new dimension of what the best fan-fiction can accomplish: somehow staying true to Rowling's characters while still revealing dimensions and qualities in them that I'd never seen before, but now feel as much a part of them as anything in the original. This is my first "Drarry" or (Potter anything) fanfiction, and I really had no idea what to expect: I did not expect that I would be eased into a universe in which the connection between these two former enemies would come to seem the truest, most authentic, most inevitable thing in the world. Honestly it's hard to put my finger on it exactly, but there is something so effortlessly graceful about the prose and characterizations here. ![]()
